Inclusion of Bidding Documents and Opening I Auction of Concessions for Semarang-Demak Toll Road
The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) opened the construction of the 27 Km Semarang-Demak Toll Road, which construction can begin to work in 2019. The existence of this toll road is expected to increase accessibility and increase the network power available for the development of the northern region of Java.
This toll road is integrated with the sea wall on the northern coast of Semarang City, starting from Kaligawe to Sayung River in Demak Regency. This sea wall functions to overcome flooding, rob and decline (subsidence) in the eastern North Semarang region of Kaligawe to Sayung.
The construction of the toll road with an investment of around Rp15.3 trillion will be planned from 2019 to 2021. The construction of the Semarang-Demak Toll Road requires an area of 1,887,000 square meters. The land is divided into two sections, Yatu Section I, Semarang City and Section II, Demak Regency.
Head of the PUPR Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT) Danang Parikesit said the tidal floods in the old city of Semarang often happened and inundated national roads, causing traffic congestion and disruption around the Genuk, Kaligawe and surrounding areas in accordance with industrial needs.
"The hope is that the construction of this toll road will at the same time revitalize the industrial area there. So the toll road to build an industrial area is no longer seen as rob, so it can again build a new economy there, "said the Head of BPJT in Jakarta, Monday (2/25).
Currently the Semarang-Demak Toll Road is still in the auction process and cover 1 (Technical Proposal) has been carried out on Monday (2/25).
