The Important Role of Indonesia Toll Road Public Relations Forum in Socializing Information on Toll Roads
Monday (17/7) has been held Event Public Relations Toll Road Indonesia Forum in Jakarta. The event was attended by representatives of Public Relation from Toll Road Enterprises such as PT. Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk, PT. Lintas Marga Sedaya, PT. Marga Mandala Sakti, PT. Hutama Karya, PT. Astra International Tbk and PT. Citra Marga Nusaphala Persada Tbk.
In this event the Head of public section Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT) Mahbullah Nurdin revealed that the importance of providing information and education to the public regarding toll roads. As we all know in October 2017 all toll roads will be subject to non-cash payments or electronic money.
Head of public section Toll Road Regulatory Agency added the purpose of enactment of electronic money on all toll roads is to provide convenience to users. "So far, people think that Automatic Toll Gate (GTO) will only increase congestion, the task of Public Relation of Toll Road Enterprises (BUJT) is to change the mindset by providing information to the community" he added.
Meanwhile, Krisno Yuwono as Head of Public Relation Bureau of Public Communication Secretariat General Ministry of PUPR said this forum can be a container of public relations communications BUJT operating in Indonesia. Connecting the Head of BPJT Public Relation's discussion on non-cash payment or electronic money is a big challenge for BUJT to socialize electronic money to the public. "BUJT publicists are required to work hard to socialize the use of e-toll in order to target by October all toll gates already using electronic money are reached," said Head of Public Relation Bureau of Public Communication Secretariat General Ministry of PUPR.
Added by him, socialization through social media such as facebook, twitter and instagram should also be intensified in order to further expand the dissemination of information about electronic money to the public.
