Providing Maximum Toll Road Services, One-Way System is Implemented in Supporting the Smooth Flow of 2019 Homecoming
Jakarta - In order to provide the best toll road services to all communities while supporting the smooth flow of homecoming 2019, the Government has determined the implementation of a one-way system on the Trans Java toll road, starting from Cikarang Km 29 to Brebes Km 263. Currently the road the Trans Java toll road as a whole has operated from Merak to Probolinggo for 965 Km.
This was conveyed by BPJT Member Element of the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, Mr. Agita Widjajanto representing the Head of the BPJT of the PUPR Ministry Mr. Danang Parikesit, during the Merdeka Barat 9 "Safe and Smooth Mudik" Forum, on Monday (5/20/19) in Jakarta. Mr. Agita explained, for the implementation of a one-way system, the traffic engineering system in the field is entirely the authority of the National Police Corps. From the total volume of incoming vehicle traffic, vehicles can be predicted from the direction of Jakarta as much as 58.7 percent to the east (Bandung-Surabaya). Then as much as 14.64 percent to the Bogor region, and 26.68 percent to the Sumatra region.
"In supporting maximum service, we have also prepared a mobile reader at each toll gate in accelerating the payment transaction system to avoid the queues at the toll gate. The enactment of a one-way system coordinated by the Korlantas is planned to be applied during the period of homecoming taking place on 30 May - 2 June 2019 and during the backflow period of 8 - 10 June 2019 on a number of toll roads. This was done to anticipate the possibility of density of vehicles on the toll road during the Lebaran 2019 homecoming period.
BPJT The Ministry of PUPR and the Toll Road Business Entity (BUJT) have prepared 78 units of rest areas on the Trans Java toll road which are spread out at each stop point from Merak to Surabaya. Of this amount, it is divided into 32 Type A rest areas, 22 Type B rest areas, and 24 Type C rest areas. Besides that, E-Money locations have also been prepared in each toll gate also spread across 50 rest area. In addition, cooperation with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and the Ministry of Health has also been carried out related to the provision of fuel and health workers in each of the rest areas.
Mr. Agita explained, there are several toll roads that will be functioned, such as in Java, namely Pandaan - Malang toll road section 4 Singosari - Pakis (4.8 Km), and on Sumatra Island namely Terbanggi Besar toll road - Pematang Panggang - Kayu Agung (189 Km), on the island of Sulawesi, namely the Manado toll road - Bitung section 1 Manado - Air Madidi section (14 Km). "The functional toll road when the homecoming flows will be limited to the usage time of 06.00 - 18.00, to reduce the risk of accidents and maintain driving safety," he explained.
Regarding the total toll tariff for one vehicle on the Trans Java toll road from Merak to East Probolinggo, travelers can pay Rp. 775,500. While for the Sumatra region of Bakauheuni - Terbangi Besar, the tariff is Rp. 112,500 which can be reached in just 40 minutes. Then Palembang - Indralaya Rp. 20,000, Medan - Binjai Seksi 1 Segment Helvetia - Jl. Veteran (Rp. 2,500), Section 2 Helvetia - Semayang (Rp. 6,000), Section 3 Semayang - Binjai (Rp. 4,000), Medan - Kualanamu - Tebing Tinggi for Rp. 53,500, Belawan - Medan - Tanjung Morawa Rp. 8,000.
