Officially Operated, Kelapa Gading - Pulo Gebang Toll Road 9.3 Km
Cakung, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has inaugurated the 9.3 Km Kelapa Gading - Pulo Gebang Toll Road directly accompanied by PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono, DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan, and representatives of BUJT PT Jakarta Tollroad Development (JTD) Jaya Pratama marked by signing the inscription and tapping the electronic card symbolically.
"By saying Bismillahirrohmanirrohim, I inaugurate the 9.3 km Kelapa Gading - Pulo Gebang Toll Road," said President Jokowi, in Jakarta (23/8/21).
The Kelapa Gading - Pulo Gebang Toll Road can be crossed by the public directly starting August 24, 2021 at 00.00 WIB and has not been charged for the next 2 weeks.
President Jokowi said that this toll road is part of and complements the Jabodetabek metropolitan toll road and also part of the Jakarta Inner Ring Road and Jakarta Outer Ring Road (JORR).
"We hope that with the completion of this toll road, the speed of logistics distribution will be better, the competitiveness of commodities will be better, because this toll road is also related to the Marunda Special Economic Zone (SEZ) and is connected to the Tanjung Priok Port so that it will further strengthen our competitiveness. Mainly, the mobility of people and goods will improve between cities in DKI Jakarta and its surroundings," said President Jokowi.
No less important is the mode of financing that we hope can be carried out on other toll roads, namely combining the development budget for funding both the Government and the private sector with the PPP scheme, thereby accelerating the toll road projects that we plan.
Head of the Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT) Danang Parikesit added, the presence of the 6 Inner Segments of DKI Jakarta Segment Kelapa Gading - Pulo Gebang is also expected to further assist connectivity in the Greater Jakarta area and it is hoped that it will not experience continuous traffic congestion problems.
"So that later we can complete the 5 connectivity rings in Jabodetabek, namely 6 Inner City Toll Roads, Jakarta Intra Urban Toll Road (JIUTR), Jorr 1, Jorr 2, and Jorr 3," said Danang.
Danang added that in this way local businesses could develop further, and the logistics network would also expand from Java to Sumatra and vice versa, so that it would continue to run smoothly without experiencing any disturbances.
Furthermore, Danang said, this toll road segment is also interesting and important, because it is funded significantly by banks from regional development banks throughout Indonesia, thus the financing of this toll road section shows that regional banks are very helpful in developing infrastructure, especially in DKI Jakarta.
"We hope that the public will immediately enjoy this toll road section, which will start operating on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at 00.00 WIB. Then, the operation of this toll road for the next 2 weeks still has no tariffs and has not been paid, it is estimated that in the middle of next month it will start to pay, and it is hoped that the public can enjoy the toll fees and can get the maximum benefit," concluded Danang.
Good luck trying this toll road #BPJT friends, be careful on the road and prioritize safety not speed! (BPJT/Dms)
