3 New Toll Road Sections Ready to Operate
Jakarta - The Ministry of PUPR has completed the construction of three new toll road sections of 69 km in a number of provinces and are ready to operate based on the Operational Eligibility Certificate.
"We have completed the construction of 3 toll road sections which coincided with the momentum of the 76th Indonesian Independence Day and is proof that the Government and construction service industry players continue to work in the midst of the COVID-19 Pandemic. We believe that infrastructure is one of the pillars of a Resilient Indonesia and a Growing Indonesia. We also hope that the construction sector can continue to be one of the solutions and foundations for maintaining positive economic growth, while helping Indonesia to recover the national economy," said Minister Basuki.
The three toll road sections that are ready for operation are the Balikpapan-Samarinda (Balsam) Toll Road Section I Balikpapan - Samboja section (22 Km) and Section V Sepinggan - Balikpapan section (11.1 Km), Serang - Panimbang Toll Road Section 1 (26.5 km). km), Inner Elevated Toll Road Kelapa Gading - Pulo Gebang Section (9.3 km).
For information, the Balikpapan-Samarinda (Balsam) Toll Road is a supporting connectivity for the capital city of East Kalimantan Province in Samarinda with various other business centers such as Balikpapan, North Penajam Paser, Kutai Kartanegara and Bontang.
Then the Serang - Panimbang Toll Road which stretches for 83.67 km that crosses the Serang City & Regency, Lebak and Pandeglang areas is expected to facilitate community economic connectivity from the industrial sector and tourism areas in Banten Province.
Furthermore, phase 1 of the Semanan - Pulo Gebang Inner Jakarta Elevated Toll Road section is expected to help break down congestion in the city of Jakarta.
The 3 toll roads are ready to operate in order to improve connectivity and smooth traffic and logistics which will ultimately encourage the growth of new economic growth centers. The presence of the toll road segment can cut travel time by almost 50% and is connected to productive areas such as industrial areas, tourism, airports, and ports, so that it will be able to reduce logistics costs and increase the competitiveness of national products.
Hopefully the road connectivity can be a gift of independence for the 76th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia.
