Toll Road "Static and Dynamic" Load Test Before Ready to Operate
Jakarta - Before the elevated toll road operates to be crossed by vehicles, it turns out that there are several stages that must be passed, namely what is known as the load test stage.
This load test stage is divided into 2 methods, namely Static and Dynamic by using a truck-type heavy vehicle in stages, whose function is to get consistent results and determine the quality of the strength of the Toll bridge. After the load test is carried out, it can be concluded that the elevated toll road segment is good and safe in construction.
The static load test is carried out by means of a heavy vehicle that stops in the middle of a toll road to test how static the girders are of the elevated construction in order to determine the amount of deflection in the middle of the bridge span.
After the test results show a smaller number than the initial calculation, it can be seen that the deflection is stiffer so it is better for bridge strength. When load testing is carried out more than once to get consistent results.
Then, a dynamic load test is carried out by means of a heavy vehicle being run on a toll road at slow speed. The dynamic test aims as a step to determine the damping factor of the bridge and the Dynamic Amplification Factor (DAF), which is the comparison between the amplitude due to dynamic loads and the amplitude due to static loads which will show the characteristics of the bridge.
After the implementation of the bridge load test has been completed and the test results will be discussed in plenary by the resource team together with the Bridge and Road Tunnel Safety Commission (KKJTJ) of the Ministry of PUPR, then a Box Girder Bridge Function Worthy Certificate is issued by the PUPR Ministry.
