The Longest in Sulawesi Island, Manado - Bitung Toll Road Stretches 39.85 Km
Jakarta - Manado - Bitung Toll Road which has a total length of 39.85 Km is the longest toll road on the island of Sulawesi. This toll road which consists of 2 sections is also the first toll road in the North Sulawesi region.
Inaugurated the first phase since 2020, namely the 26 km Manado - Danowudu section, this toll road has benefits and an important role in supporting economic activities in North Sulawesi Province (Sulut).
Currently, the Manado - Danowudu section has been operated, following Section 2B of the 13.5 Km Danowudu - Bitung section. Currently, the construction progress has reached 84.34% and it is hoped that this August 2021 can be fully completed.
The construction of the 39.85 km Manado-Bitung Toll Road is divided into two sections, namely Section 1 of the Manado-Sukur-Air Madidi toll road along 11 km which is carried out by the Ministry of PUPR with the progress of Section 1A of the Manado-Sukur segment (5 km) and Section 1B of the Sukur-Air segment. Airmadidi (6 Km).
Meanwhile, Section 2 of Airmadidi-Bitung with a length of 28.85 Km is carried out by the Toll Road Business Entity (BUJT) PT Jasa Marga Manado Bitung which is divided into Section 2A Airmadidi-Danowudu (15.35 Km) and Section 2B Danowudo-Bitung (13.5 Km). ).
Later, after this toll road is completely completed, it will reduce the travel time for Manado – Bitung from an average travel time of 1.5 hours to only half an hour.
The Manado - Bitung Toll Road will be integrated with industrial and tourism areas so that access is easier to reach. Then cut logistics costs from Bitung Port so as to support the economic improvement of the Bitung Special Economic Zone (SEZ).
Through the support of the Manado - Bitung Toll Road infrastructure, it will further develop the surrounding economic potential such as the fishing industry, agriculture, plantation and tourism sectors.
