President to review Gempol-Pasuruan Toll Road Section 2
Before departing back to Jakarta from a working visit to East Java Province, President Joko Widodo first reviewed the construction of the Gempol-Pasuruan toll road section (Gempas) section 2. The toll section of the 2nd section in Lebaran 2018 is expected to have entered the operation-worthy process so it can be used community.
"We want to ensure the use of toll roads for mudik.We have made sure from Merak to Pasuruan can be used for going home though there are several kilometers that are still functional, but it can be used.We expect later Lebaran that will come the smooth traffic we hope to better, "the President told reporters.
The operation of Gempas 2nd section of the toll road will provide options for travelers who will pass on the Surabaya-Pasuruan Pantura line. Gempas toll road section that can pass the upcoming Lebaran season of section 1 Gempol-Rembang and section 2 Rembang-Pasuruan.
"People can choose which road Pantura artery or choose toll road.There is a choice of means, usually only one.This now there are two, it means more fluent logic," he said.
Gempas toll road development along the 34.15 km is targeted to be completed by the end of 2018 which will connect Gempol to Probolinggo. Furthermore, in 2019 it is expected that the development can continue and can connect Merak to Banyuwangi.
The Gempas section 2 section that the President reviewed this time connecting Rembang and Pasuruan along the 6.6 kilometers. This toll road is part of the Trans Java Toll that is targeted to be completed by the end of 2019.
Also attending the President in this review were, Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung and East Java Governor Soekarwo.
