President Joko Widodo Inaugurates Toll Road Medan - Kualanamu - Tebing Tinggi - - Kualanamu - Sei Rampah Section and Medan - Binjai - Helvetia - Semayang – Binjai Section
President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo inaugurated two Toll Roads namely Medan - Kualanamu - Tebing Tinggi - Sei Rampah Section and Medan - Binjai Helvetia - Semayang – Binjai Sectioon on Friday (13/10) at Kualanamu Toll Gate. President Joko Widodo was accompanied by Minister of PUPR, Minister of State Owned Enterprises, Minister of the Cabinet Secretary and President Director of PT. Jasa Marga.
Toll Road Medan - Kualanamu - Tebing Tinggi Section 2: Parbarakan - Kualanamu has a length of 7.05 km, Section 3: Parbarakan - Lubuk Pakam along 4.4 km, Section 4: Lubuk - Pakam - The building has a length of 12.8 km, Section 5: Perbangung - Teluk Mengkudu 9.6 km, Section 6: Teluk Mengkudu - Tebing Tinggi along 7.8 km. Total Toll Road Medan - Kualanamu - Tebing Tinggi is 61.70 km. Meanwhile for section 1 Simpang Tanjung Morawa - Simpang Pabarakan 10.75 km and Sexy 7 Sei Rampah - Tebing Tinggi 9,30 km is still in progress of construction. The total toll roads reach 61.70 km which is the longest toll road in Sumatra.

In his speech President Joko Widodo said that the tourism area we can push because from Medan Tebing Tinggi to the tourist site of Lake Toba can now be reached within 4-5 hours. Later if the toll has been traveling more or less only 1.5 - 2 hours.
President Joko Widodo also added that if all toll roads have been connected, it is expected to reduce the operational costs of the delivery of goods and services. Decrease in operating costs leads to a decrease in the price of goods, thereby increasing competitiveness.
The completion of the toll road operated by PT Jasamarga Kualanamu Tol which is a subsidiary of PT Jasa Marga (Persero) is expected to shorten the travel time so as to reduce the density on the national road, besides this toll is also expected to develop the region of Sumatra to support the movement in the economic sector and tourism. The investment value for this segment is 4,072 Trillion with the signature of Toll Road Concession Agreement on January 5, 2015 and amended on April 20, 2016.
Kualanamu Toll Road - Sei Rampah in the future will be connected with Jasa Marga toll road which has been operating previously, namely Belawan Toll Road - Medan - Tanjung Morawa, where the meeting point between the two toll roads is Tanjung Morawa.
Toll Road Medan - Binjai Section 2: Heltivia - Semayang has a length of 6.18 km and Section 3: Semayang - Binjai with a length of 4.28 km is part of Medan - Binjai Toll Road which has a total length of 16.72. For Section 1: Tanjung Mulia - Helvetia with a length of 6.27 is still in the free soil progression stage of 66.4% as of October 11, 2017.
In his speech, President Joko Widodo said that there is a problem of land acquisition in Medan - Binjai and requested to all levels of Regional Leadership Deliberation (Muspida), Regional Office and National Land Agency (BPN) can support the land acquisition to be completed quickly.
