President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo inaugurate the operation of toll road utilization Pejagan - Pemalang Section I and II (Pejagan - Brebes Eastern) on Thursday (16/6) in Brebes, Central Java. On the same occasion, the President also inaugurated the toll road transaction system integration cluster 1, namely Jakarta - Cikampek - Purwakarta - Padaralarang - Cileunyi and Cikopo - palimanan and cluster 2 is palimanan - Kanci -Pejagan - Pemalang.

The President explained that the toll road Pejagan - Pemalang is part of the Trans Java toll road network proposed by the Government in order to accelerate the construction of national infrastructure. This is consistent with one of the priority agenda of Nawa Cita is to improve people's productivity and competitiveness in the international market.

Joko Widodo expect Trans Java toll roads under construction can be completed on time so that the target of the operation as a whole can be achieved before 2018.

Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), Hadimuljono Basuki said the overall investment cost of highway construction Pejagan - Pemalang worth Rp6.8 trillion. Oil and gas activities carried out by PT Pejagan Pemalang Toll Road whose shareholders consist of PT Waskita MNC Transjawa Tollroad (99.99 percent) and PT Waskita Karya (Persero) (0.0 per cent).

Basuki said the toll rates on the toll road Pejagan - Pemalang Section I and II is Rp 1,000 per kilometer for Class I so the toll rates until the farthest East Brebes is Rp20,000. The toll road concession period is 45 years since the issuance of Warrant Begin Construction (SPMK) in 2014.

"The toll road Pejagan - Pemalang Section III and IV is still in the stage of land acquisition and will soon begin construction. Both sections are scheduled to operate in 2017 in line with the target of the operation of the Trans Java, "said Minister PUPR.

While related to the transaction system integration motorway, Joko Widodo explained this is a breakthrough that is oriented to service to the community. This system is expected to save travel time and vehicle operating costs so as to improve transport efficiency and reduce logistics costs to meet the needs of the community.

Basuki explains, test system integration toll road transactions have been made since June 13, 2016 last. With the integration of payment systems toll from Jakarta to Brebes East, transactions conducted behind closed doors at three toll booths that Toll Gate Cikarang Utama (capture card cluster 1), palimanan (toll payments cluster 1 and making cards cluster 2) and Brebes East (toll payments cluster 2).

"In the framework of the integration, which eliminated four barrier gate barrier gate on the motorway Cikopo Cikopo - palimanan; Plumbon and Ciperna on the motorway palimanan - Kanci; as well as on the motorway Mertapada Kanci - Pejagan, "said Minister PUPR.

Electronic toll payment is done in a multi-bank and supported by the participation of four national banks, namely Bank Mandiri, BCA, BNI and BRI in cluster 1 and cluster 2 is supported by Bank Mandiri, BNI and BRI. System integration of this transaction will be applied to sections of other highways.

"The integration of these systems is the first step road map for the implementation of the Electronic Toll Collection toll roads in Indonesia, towards the implementation of payment without stopping (multilane free flow) in the next few years," said Basuki.
