Pandaan - Malang Toll Road Inaugurated, Cut Travel Time for Surabaya - Malang Only 1 Hour
Malang - Pandaan - Malang Toll Road section I-III along 30.6 Km was inaugurated by President Joko Widodo accompanied by Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono. The inauguration was marked by the signing of an inscription and a siren keystroke signed by the operation of the toll road which is part of the Surabaya - Malang Toll Road at the Singosari Toll Gate, Singosari District, East Java, Monday (05/13/19).
Also attending were accompanying President Jokowi, namely BUMN Minister Rini Soemarno, Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa, Jasa Marga President Director Desi Arryani.
President Joko Widodo said the toll road connecting the Surabaya - Malang region was an important part awaited by the community. Because it used to be taken in 3 to 3.5 hours, it is currently only 1 hour.
President Joko Widodo also told the Minister of BUMN that after the toll road was inaugurated, during the trial period, it would not be paid until Lebaran 2019. "Hopefully the existence of this toll road can accelerate the flow of goods, services, and the entire community. We hope Malang region really become a tourist area that is connected, and economic growth is getting better and increasing, "said President Jokowi.
PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said, Minister Basuki said that the Pandaan - Malang toll tariff had not been applied during the socialization period to the public. "Because the toll lever is very much awaited by the community, so we accelerate its utilization, including to support the smooth flow of homecoming 2019," said Minister Basuki.
While the Head of the PUPR Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT), Danang Parikesit added, the construction of the toll road construction has been carried out since 2016 in June. This is a very unique toll road, because the route does not only connect Pandaan - Malang but also the Surabaya - Malang area.
"The existence of this toll road can also bring new economic access, starting from tourism and culture around East Java. The community also feels the benefits and uses this road network when the Eid celebrations will be more comfortable with the family," said Danang.
Pandaan-Malang Toll Road as a whole has a length of 38.5 Km consisting of five sections. Section 1 is Pandaan - Purwodadi along 15.5 Km, Section 2 Purwodadi - Lawang along 8 Km. Then, in Section 3 Lawang - Singosari along 7.1 Km. These three sections are ready to operate after President Jokowi's inauguration with a length of 30.6 Km.
Then for Section 4 Singosari - 4.8 Km long Pakis can be functioned during the upcoming Lebaran 2019 homecoming. In Section 5 Pakis - Malang, as long as 3.1 Km is currently still in the construction phase and is targeted to be operational in December 2019.
Pandaan - Malang toll road has 5 Interchange (SS), namely SS. Purwodadi, SS. Lawang, SS. Singosari, SS. Fern, and SS. Poor. The construction of the Pandaan - Malang Toll Road was built with an investment of Rp 5.97 trillion, which was carried out by the Toll Road Business Entity (BUJT) of PT. Jasamarga Pandaan - Malang.
The toll road that is part of the Surabaya-Malang Toll Road also offers panoramic views of beautiful landscapes on the right and left side of the road, Rest Area which is directly facing the view of Mount Semeru on the east side, Mount Arjuna on the west side, Gunung Kawi on the southwest , and also the view of Mount Penanggungan.
The existence of this toll road is also a tourism supporting access road in the Malang and surrounding areas, namely the SEZ RegionSingosari, and the Singosari Temple Tourism Area, Batu City Tourism area. Next Wonosari Tea Plantation tourist area, Prigen Safari Park, and Prigen Tourist Area.
