The cooperation was realized by the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation by Minister of PUPR Basuki Hadimuljono and BI Governor Agus Martowardo at BI Building, Jakarta, (31/5). One of the scope of this cooperation is to support Non-Cash National Movement (GNNT) in toll road payment to realize less cash society.

This agreement is one of the steps to increase the use of electronic money to Multi Lane Free Flow (MLFF), which until March 2017, the rate of electronic money usage in 14 new Jabodetabek toll roads reaches 25 percent.
Furthermore, prior to the full implementation of non-cash payments, the Ministries of PUPR, BI, Toll Road Enterprises (BUJT), and Banking will improve the socialization and education of the use of electronic money on toll roads. In addition to coordinating with BI, the PUPR Ministry through BPJT has issued orders for the implementation of multi-cash non-cash transactions throughout all toll booths. Currently, BPJT is also drafting a Ministerial Regulation on Intelligent Transportation System of Toll Road.
