President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo perform the launching of development (groundbreaking) motorway Pemalang-Batang and Batang-Semarang. Groundbreaking do in Batang, Central Java, on Friday (17/6). Total investment of the construction of the toll road reached Rp15,85 trillion.
Long toll road Pemalang-Batang and Batang-Semarang each is 39.2 Km and 75 Km. both construction expected to be completed within the next two years. Joko Widodo believes in the existence of this highway will contribute significantly in serving the movement of people, goods and services, especially in the path of the North Coast of Central Java and Java as a whole.
"The toll road Pemalang - Batang and Batang-Semarang is part of the Trans Java toll road network proposed by the Government in order to accelerate the construction of national infrastructure," said Joko Widodo.
The President further said the Government is aware, the development of infrastructure is an absolute prerequisite for improving the competitiveness of the nation in order to encourage economic growth. For that in the future the Government will continue its efforts to improve the investment climate so as to support the accelerated development of highway infrastructure.
"Central Java Governor, Mayors, District and his staff, along with the community is expected to support the completion of the construction of toll roads, particularly related to the land acquisition process for both sides that we groundbreaking today," he continued.
Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Hadimuljono Basuki said the progress of land acquisition on the motorway Pemalang - Batang currently reaches 12 percent and highway Batang - Semarang reached 20 percent. So that they can be completed in 2018, the implementation of the construction is carried out in parallel with land acquisition.
For information, enterprise segments Pemalang - Batang conducted by PT Pemalang - Batang Toll Road whose shareholders consist of PT Waskita Toll Road (60 percent) and PT Sumber Mitra Jaya (40 per cent) with a total investment cost of Rp4.8 trillion and the concession period 45 years since the issuance of Warrant Begin Construction (SPMK).
While the toll road concession Batang - Semarang conducted by PT Jasamarga Semarang-Batang with the composition of its shareholders are PT Jasa Marga (60 percent) and PT Waskita Toll Road (40 per cent) with a total investment cost of Rp11,05 trillion and a concession period of 45 years since the publication of SPMK.
Basuki said the Batang-Semarang toll road is the first toll road project which uses insurance mechanisms of Indonesia Infrastructure Guarantee Fund (PII / IIGF) including guarantees for bailout funds in order to procure land motorway.
"The facility is expected to lower the investment risk, improve bankability of the project so as to increase the interest of private and banking sector for participation in infrastructure development," said Minister PUPR.
