The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing in four years (2015-2018) has completed 616 Km of 1,150 Km of Trans Java Toll Road that connects Merak - Banyuwangi. Now from Merak to Grati, Pasuruan, as long as 933 Km has been connected, while Pasuruan-Banyuwangi is 217 Km in 2021.

The progress completes the Trans Java toll road sections that have been carried out in the previous period, namely during the period of 1978 to 2004 along 242 Km and in the period 2005 to 2014 it was 75 km long.

The seven newest toll road segments were inaugurated by President Joko Widodo in East Java and Central Java Province on Thursday (12/20). The inauguration was carried out in two places, namely the four toll roads in East Java carried out at the Bandar Interchange (SS), at KM 671 Jombang-Mojokerto Toll Road and three toll roads in Central Java at the Kali Kuto Bridge, which became the icon of the Batang Batang Section -Now.

"With the inauguration of the toll road in East Java and Central Java, the toll road from Jakarta to Surabaya is already connected," President Joko Widodo said after inaugurating 4 toll roads in East Java which took place at the SS Bandar. After the inauguration, President Joko Widodo and his entourage headed to the location of the Second Inauguration at the Kuto River Bridge through the Trans Java Toll Road by bus.

Also accompanying President Joko Widodo, First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo, PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono, Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi, BUMN Minister Rini M. Soemarno, and Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung.

President Joko Widodo by completing and installing the toll road from Jakarta - Grati will make it easier for people to have better and cheaper alternatives, in addition to existing national inter-provincial roads. The presence of toll roads is immediately integrated with industrial estates, special economic zones (SEZ), or tourist areas on the side of the toll road.

"I got a report from the Governor of East Java, namely after the existence of toll roads, industrial estates in Ngawi Regency which greatly increased the interest of investors. In addition, from the labor side it was still competitive," said President Joko Widodo.

PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono expressed his deepest gratitude and appreciation to all Ministries / Agencies which have done very well during the process of building the Trans Java toll roads.

Especially to the Ministry of BUMN, Ministry of Agrarian and Spatial Planning (ATR), Ministry of Environment and Forestry (LHK), Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Religion, Indonesian National Police, Attorney General's Office, High Prosecutor's Office, and District Attorney which has mobilized Government and Regional Guards and Safeguards Teams (TP4P and TP4D), Provincial Governments and District / City Governments, Toll Road Business Entities (BUJT), BUMN Works and National Private Enterprises.

"Likewise for all levels of society who are responsible for this, we give thousands of thanks for cooperation and also," said the Minister of PUPR.

With the opening of the seven sections, it will facilitate the flow of Christmas 2018 and the New Year 2019. "Seven toll roads that have just been inaugurated will be charged Rp. 0, - starting today until the end of the new year holiday 2019," said the Minister of PUPR.

For information on the toll roads in East Java which were inaugurated along a total of 59 Km, including the Tol Ngawi-Kertosono segment Wilangan-Kertosono (38 km), Jombang-Mojokerto section Bandar-Kertosono (1 km), Gempol-Pasuruan section 3 Pasuruan-Grati (14 km) and Surabaya-Gempol Porong-Gempol relocation section (6 km).

While in Central Java Province the total length of the toll road which was inaugurated along 142 km of the Pemalang-Batang toll road segment is SS Pemalang-Paserakan (34 Km), Batang-Semarang (75 Km), and Semarang - Solo Salatiga-Kartasura segment (33 Km).

Also present accompanied Minister Basuki, Secretary General of the Ministry of PUPR Anita Firmanti, Director General of Highways Sugiyartanto, Head of the Toll Road Regulatory Agency Herry Trisaputra Zuna, and head of the Communication Bureau Endra S. Atmawidjaja.
