Construction of the Muara Enim Toll Road - Simpang Indralaya and Muara Enim - Lubuk Linggau, Presents the Center for New Economic Growth in South Sumatra
Muara Enim - Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) began construction of the Muara Enim Toll Road - Simpang Indralaya and Muara Enim - Lubuk Linggau along 233.5 Km marked by the Signing of Toll Road Concession Agreement (PPJT) by the Head of the Toll Road Regulatory Agency ( BPJT) Danang Parikesit and President Director of Hutama Karya Bintang Perbowo. The PPJT was witnessed directly by PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono along with Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi, and South Sumatra Governor Herman Deru, RI DPR Member Wahyu Senjaya on Tuesday (9/4/19) in Muara Enim, South Sumatra.
PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono in his remarks said, in March the construction of the Bengkulu - Lubuk Linggau toll road had begun, and today the construction of the Muara Enim - Simpang Indralaya and Muara Enim - Lubuk Linggau toll road sections was also started.
"The rapid development of this toll road depends on the stages of land acquisition in the form of compensation for land acquisition. Construction has no problems so that it can be faster, so the work program can be carried out as well as possible for the people's welfare," said Minister Basuki.
Minister Basuki also said, when this toll road has functioned, the regional government and the provincial government must be able to connect and utilize toll roads with industrial estates. For example, in the Trans Java Toll Road section that has just been completed in the Ngawi - Nganjuk area, there has been a lot of land acquisition to go to the industrial plant area.
"Industrial factories located in Karawang, the vendors do not need to be moved to Karawang, because they already exist in Klaten and Boyolali, so calculating retail with fixed costs, as well as later in industrial estates here," said Minister Basuki.
Minister Basuki added, this toll road can also be a destination for developing tourist areas in South Sumatra, especially Muara Enim Regency. In addition, Mr. President Jokowi's rest area on the toll road was directed to increase local product sales. "Later, local food such as Lemang, Mie Celok, Tempuyak, Kopi Semendau must be filled. 70% of local products, and 30% of foreign products," he added.
Head of BPJT Danang Parikesit in his report said that the presence of the Toll Road that connects the Palembang region - Bengkulu could cut travel time from Palembang - Muara Enim from 4 hours to just 1.5-2 hours later. The District Government and the City of South Sumatra have prepared local economic potential in the area around interchanges which will later become the center of new economic growth.
The construction of the Muara Enim - Simpang Indralaya and Muara Enim - Lubuk Linggau Toll Roads is divided into 2 sections, namely the First Section of the 114.5 Km Muara Enim - Lubuk Linggau section which has three interchanges namely Lahat / Merapi, SS Musi Rawas interchange (SS) , and SS Lubuk Linggau.
"Then, in the 119 Km section of the two sections of Muara Enim - Simpang Indralaya, there are three interchanges (SS), namely SS Sp. Indralaya, SS Prabumulih, and SS Muara Enim. Construction of toll roads with an investment of Rp. 47.89 Trillion "The construction period will be completed in December 2022, and is targeted to start operating in early 2023," said Danang.
The construction of toll roads in Muara Enim Regency provides an important function for increasing the value of connectivity, economy and agricultural development in the region. In addition, it can facilitate access to increased regional industry and tourism, and facilitate the distribution of goods and services that are increasingly smooth in the South Sumatra region.
The concession period for the Muara Enim - Lubuk Linggau and Muara Enim - Simpang Indralaya Toll Roads was assigned to PT Hutama Karya for 40 years starting from the issuance of the Construction Start Order (SPMK). Ministry of PUPR through BPJT The Ministry of PUPR will continue to strive to increase investment support for the construction of toll road infrastructure in the Sumatra region and other regions in Indonesia.
