Construction Completion of the Final Phase of the Balikpapan - Samarinda Toll Road Section I & V, Supporting Economic Growth in East Kalimantan
Bekasi - Balikpapan - Samarinda Toll Road along 99.55 Km is the first barrier-free connectivity on the island of Kalimantan. Currently, the overall construction progress of the Balikpapan - Samarinda Toll Road Sections 1 & 5 has reached the final stage of completion.
For these two sections (Sections 1 & 5), which are portions by the Government through the Ministry of PUPR, the progress has reached 100% and is ready to operate.
This toll road is a supporting connectivity for the capital city of East Kalimantan Province in Samarinda with various other business centers such as in Balikpapan, North Penajam Paser, Kutai Kartanegara and Bontang.
In addition, the Balikpapan - Samarinda Toll Road is one of the supporting infrastructures for the Semayang Port in Balikpapan and the Samarinda Port.
The Balikpapan-Samarinda Toll Road has an important role in reducing travel time for a faster trip, which usually takes 3 to 4 hours, but currently it is only 1.5 to 2 hours.
The Balikpapan - Samarinda Toll Road consists of 5 sections, namely section 1 of the Balikpapan - Samboja section (22.03 Km), and section 5 of the Balikpapan - Sepinggan section (11.09 Km) which is the Government portion.
Then section II of the Samboja - Muara Java segment (30.98 Km), section III of the Muara Java - Palaran segment (17.50 Km), and section IV of the Palaran - Samarinda segment (17.95 Km) the portion of the Toll Road Business Entity (BUJT). PT. Jasa Marga Balikpapan-Samarinda which has been operating since last December 2019. (BPJT/Dms)
