Groundbreaking Padang - Pekanbaru Toll Road Section 1 Padang - Sicincin and Inauguration of Padang Bypass Capacity Expansion Project by the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo was held at the project site at Jl. Padang Bypass Km 25, Padang, West Sumatera, Friday (9/2). In this Groundbreaking, President Joko Widodo was accompanied by Minister of Public Works and People's Housing, Governor of West Sumatra, Riau Governor and Regent of Padang Pariaman.
Padang - Pekanbaru Toll Road has a total length of 244 Km and is divided into 5 sections: Section 1 Padang - Sicincin along 28 Km, Section 2 Sicincin - Payakumbuh with length of 78 Km, Section 3 Payakumbuh - Base 45 Km, Section 4 Pangkalan - Bangkinang along 56 Km and Section 5 Bangkinang - Pekanbaru has a length of 37 Km.
This toll road is part of the Trans Sumatera Toll Road (Lampung - Aceh) which is one of the most strategic mega-projects to maximize inter-regional connectivity in Sumatra that will eventually bring economic growth both regionally and nationally.
With the start of construction of Padang - Pekanbaru Toll Road Section 1 (Padang - Sicincin) is expected to reduce congestion in the area. In addition, this toll road is also expected to facilitate the distribution and reduce the cost of goods and services logistics between regions. If during this time Padang - Pekanbaru travels spent 9 hours journey, with the Padang - Pekanbaru Toll Road is expected to shorten the time to 2.5 - 3 hours.
Potentials in the infrastructure sector, facilities and infrastructure, tourism and investment are also expected to grow in this region.
President Joko Widodo said that the highly potential asset in the region is tourism. Many tourism can be enjoyed in Riau such as religious tourism, culture and nature. If supported by good infrastructure then the tourism potential will continue to grow in the future.
Toll Road Concession Padang - Pekanbaru implemented by PT. Hutama Karya with an investment value of 78.095 trillion through a Toll Road Concession Agreement signed on October 11, 2017.
The concession period of the Padang - Pekanbaru toll road concession is 40 years from the issuance of the Letter of Order Begin Construction (SPMK) by the Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT). Speed of plan on this segment is 80 km / h with the number of lanes 2x2.
On the same occasion President Joko Widodo inaugurated the 27 km Padang Bypass Capacity Expansion Project with a budget of 426 bln. With details of the 5-km Galung-Lubuk Begalung segment and the Lubuk Begalung - Duku long 22 KM segment. On this road there are 9 bridges with a total length of 558.6 M. The period of construction of Padang Bypass is 3 years from 2014-2017.
