Indonesia's President Joko Widodo Inaugurates Toll Road Gempol - Pasuruan

Spread over 20.5 Km Gempol - Pasuruan Toll Road was inaugurated by the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (22/06). Located at Toll Gate Pasuruan, East Java, President Joko Widodo was accompanied by Minister of Public Works and People's Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, East Java Governor Soekarwo, and President Director of PT. Jasa Marga Desi Arryani inaugurated the Gempol - Pasuruan Paseksi Section I: Gempol - Rembang along 13.9 Km which has been operating since 2017 and Section II: Rembang - Pasuruan along 6.6 Km.

Gempol - Pasuruan Toll Road consists of 3 sections, Section I Gempol - Rembang along 13.9 Km, Section II Rembang - Pasuruan with length 6.6 Km, Paseksi III Pasuruan - Grati with length 13,65 Km which is still under construction .

"The Toll Road from Merak to Pasuruan is generally passable although some are still functional, but we expect the end of 2018 to be completed and operated and then continue until Banyuwangi, in 2019, God willing," said President Joko Widodo.

This toll road is part of the Trans Java Toll Road (Merak - Banyuwangi) linking the Surabaya - Gempol Toll Road with Pasuruan - Pasuruan Toll Road.

The toll road with a 4.03 trillion investment cost is expected to increase economic growth especially in East Java Province. With the support of infrastructure, Gempol - Pasuruan Toll Road becomes very important to solve the problems of land transportation and new connectivity that will have a positive impact on the economic condition of the region in general.

"With the speed of logistics distribution goods mobility, we expect the cost will be much cheaper," explained President Joko Widodo.

The Gempol - Pasuruan toll road is the answer to the people's need for a fast and convenient transportation system. With the operation of this toll road is expected to help people who want to avoid congestion on the national road.

Technically, the Gempol - Pasuruan toll road section employed with rigid pavement pavement type (concrete pavement) has an initial 2 x 2 and 2 x 3 lane end lane number. In addition, Solo-Ngawi Toll is equipped with four interchanges, namely SS Bangil, SS Rembang, SS Pasuruan and SS Grati.

Gempol Toll Road Enterprises - Pasuruan implemented by PT. Jasamarga Gempol Pasuruan since the signing of the Toll Road Concession Agreement on 29 May 2006 and amended on June 7, 2011. The concession period of Gempol - Pasuruan Toll Road for 45 years commencing from the issuance of Construction Start Order (SPMK).
