The Ministry of PUPR observes the recommendations of the Bridge Security Commission and the Road Tunnel (KKJTJ) about the opening of traffic on Cisomang Bridge.

Previously, since December 23, 2016 ago, the PUPR Ministry has made traffic restrictions by allowing only Class I (Small - non bus) that can pass through the Cisomang bridge during the 3-month repair period. Within that period, the bridge handling is focused on 2 (two) things: stop the movement on the pillars and restore the strength of the bridge structure.

At present, based on continuous monitoring of movement and structure, all bridge pillars are in good condition. Being built to have the power to a standard in accordance with adequate safety factor, where the vehicle with overload is still not to bridge the Cisomang Bridge to ensure the safety of the community.

Cisomang Bridge handling is done with caution involving experts from various disciplines of science. In this case, the PUPR Ministry is accompanied by the Bridge Security Commission for Long and Road Tunnel (KKJTJ), LAPI ITB, and PT. Jasa Marga (Persero) as the toll road manager.

The repair of Cisomang Bridge has been done, among others: (1) stripping around A1 - P0 - P1, (2) installation of Steel Strutting connecting pillar P2 - P3, (3) Bored-pile installation on P2 and Soldierpile (4) installation of the Connection Beam from Pilecap Pillar P2 Grouting Epoxy on A1, P0, P1, P2, P5, A2, and (5) Carbon Reinforced Fiber Polymer (CFRP) as retrofitting P2 pillar , P3, and P4.

In the future, the Ministry of PWPH assigns PT. Jasa Marga (Persero) to implement 4 (four) things as follows:

Coordinate with the Indonesian Police Corps, Ministry of Transportation, and local government for the opening of traffic on 1 April 2017, with joint socialization activities from March 28, 2017 to March 31, 2017.

Continuous monitoring of the structure, soil / slopes, rivers and foundations of the Cisomang Bridge, as well as implementing permanent handling improvements to traffic may operate normally, by 30 September 2017 at the latest.

Preparing effective method for filtering / selecting non-Group I vehicles with overload that will cross the Cisomang Bridge.

Preparing SOPs if  the opening of traffic occurs things that are considered to endanger public safety as road users and bridges.

As a preventive step, the PUPR Ministry requested all Toll Road Enterprises (BUJT) to carry out continuous monitoring the condition of all long span bridges located on toll road sections under its management, so the risk of disruption to the bridge can be identified early and carried out with appropriate handling measures.

The integration policy is intended to reduce congestion on the toll road segments by eliminating transactions in some barrier gates, where the queues of vehicles will be distributed to each ramp so that overall travel time may be reduced. In addition, this policy is intended to encourage increased penetration of non-cash toll payment with the implementation of multi-bank e-payment system, as well as the initial initiative of Roadmap implementation of Electronic Toll Collection in Indonesia that is continuous, free flow in the next few years .

Integration of the toll road payment system is carried out on the following sections;
