Pekanbaru - Bangkinang Toll Road Development Increases Competitiveness of Local Products and Accelerates Mobility of Goods & Services
Pekanbaru - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) conducted a visit to the Trans Sumatra Toll Road (JTTS) construction project, namely the Pekanbaru - Bangkinang Toll Road, which is part of the Pekanbaru - Padang Toll Road, on Wednesday (19/5/21).
"On my visit this morning, I visited and saw the development of the Trans Sumatra Toll Road construction on the Dumai - Pekanbaru section and is currently on the side of the Pekanbaru - Bangkinang toll road which will later be connected to the Padang area," said President Jokowi during his visit.
Stretching for 40 km, the progress of the toll road construction connecting the Pekanbaru to Bangkinang areas has reached 65.60% and is targeted to be completed by the end of 2021.
President Jokowi added, with the construction that has been running for approximately 40 km, it is hoped that the progress will be increasing day by day and the opening of many other sections of the Pekanbaru - Bangkinang toll road.
"So we hope that the mobility of goods and services will be accelerated and we will increasingly have high competitiveness against other countries and that existing products in Riau Province and its surroundings will have good competitiveness, especially in order to compete with other products. products of other countries, "said President Jokowi.
Uniquely, in the implementation of construction managed by the Toll Road Business Entity (BUJT) PT Hutama Karya (Persero), Pekanbaru - Bangkinang has implemented Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology and is the first toll road to apply this technology.
Where the application of this technology is in accordance with the direction of the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) in supporting Indonesia's digital construction from the planning phase to the construction phase. The application of BIM technology can also be used in calculating the volume of work, costs, and implementation schedules so that it can be completed on time so that it is more efficient.
For information, the Pekanbaru - Padang Toll Road, which stretches for 254 Km, consists of the Pekanbaru - Bangkinang section (40 Km), the Bangkinang - Pangkalan 1 section (24.7 Km) with a construction progress of 40.15%. Then the Pangkalan - Sic Cincin section (153.3 Km), and the Padang - Sic Cincin section (36 Km) with construction progress reached 40.28%.
Overall, the Pekanbaru - Padang Toll Road will be connected in 2025. Later this toll road will also be connected directly to the Pekanbaru - Dumai toll road, the Rengat - Pekanbaru toll road. Then this toll road will have one Service Rest Area (TIP).
