Inauguration of Palembang Toll Road - Simpang Indralaya Section I: Palembang - Pemulutan
President of Indonesia inaugurates Palembang Toll Road - Simpang Indralaya Section I: Palembang - Pemulutan, Thursday (11/10) located at the gate of Palembang Toll. The event was attended by Minister of PUPR Basuki Hadimuljono, SOE Minister Rini Soemarno, Pramono Agung Cabinet Secretary, and South Sumatra Governor Alex Noerdin.
President Joko Widodo said that he has visited the toll road project four times. This is because the toll road development process requires special treatment.
In particular the Palembang Toll Road - Simpang Indralaya is dominated by the construction of roads on swamp soils with heavy terrain, requiring special construction methods using Vacuum Consolidation Methode (VCM) technology. The lane plan on this toll road is 100 km / h with the number of 2x2 lane in the initial stage and 2x3 in the final stage.
In his speech, President Jokowi Widodo also said that the public can use the Palindra Section 1 freeway without being paid until the end of 2017.
"This is the first toll road in South Sumatra. I ask, although this toll road, although paid, so that can be seen and enjoyed by the community, this early until the end of the year please do not be collected (cost) first, "he said.
President's request was responded with the approval of the President Director of PT. Hutama Karya, I Gusti Ngurah Putra. Palembang Toll Road - Pemulutan is part of
Palembang Toll Road - Simpang Indralaya which has a length of 7.75 KM. Palembang Toll Road - Simpang Indralaya has a total length of 21.93 KM with its construction completion target of January 2018.
This toll road is part of the Trans Sumatera Toll Road (Lampung - Aceh) which is included in the target of the construction of the toll road along 2,700 KM until 2019. It is expected that the operation of Palembang Toll Road - Pemulutan can support the connectivity of Asian Games XVII 2018 which will be held in two City of Jakarta and Palembang. In addition, the existence of this toll is also expected to facilitate the distribution and reduce the cost of goods and services logistics between regions.
The government commissioned PT. Hutama Karya to implement the Toll Road business of Palembang - Simpang Indralaya. The Toll Road Concession Agreement was signed on 4 September 2015 and amended on April 20, 2016 and July 15, 2016. From the financial aspect, the required investment cost amounted to 3.301 Trillion.
For information, Palembang Toll Road - Simpang Indralaya consists of 3 sections, namely: Section 1 (Palembang - Pemulutan) which has a length of 7.75 KM, Section II (Pemulutan - Kota Terpadu Mandiri) along 4.91 KM and the last Section III ( Mandiri Integrated City - Simpang Indralaya) with a length of 9.8 KM.
