Adjustment of the Latest Toll Tariff of Sedyatmo Toll Road, As a Traffic of Regional Economic Growth Around Soetta Airport

Jakarta - The government has determined the latest toll tariff adjustment for the Sedyatmo Toll Road which is effective on May 12, 2019 at 00.00 WIB. This has been determined in accordance with the decision of the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) No. 121 / KPTS / M / 2019 concerning Adjustment of Toll Rates on Prof. Toll Road Section Dr. Ir. Soedijatmo, since February 6, 2019 which has been adjusted from the increase in the inflation rate.

The Head of the PUPR Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT), Danang Parikesit, said that the Sedyatmo toll road of 14.3 Km has an important role in the surrounding land use change that fosters new economic activities such as offices, shops, culinary, hotel and warehousing areas ( industry) which will generate new traffic in the form of container trucks.

"The presence of this toll road also serves access to Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Soetta) like the initial function of its operation. So that currently the Sedyatmo Toll Road is the axis of economic growth in the area around Soetta Airport, "Danang said at the time of the Press Conference, at the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, Thursday (9/5/19).

Danang said, regarding the evaluation of toll tariff adjustments carried out every 2 years by the BPJT Ministry of PUPR, and has been adjusted to the increase in inflation rates based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). The increase in inflation as of September 2018, in the city of Tangerang was 7.75 percent and in the city of Jakarta which was 7.74 percent. So that the smallest inflation used is 7.74 percent.

"In addition to tariff adjustments, a tariff pricing system is also being recycled. With this system, which previously applied five different tariff categories, now only three tariff categories apply. This is also an important effort in supporting national logistics transportation, through adjustments and rationalization of tariffs, so that the tariffs for Group IV and V of the Sedyatmo toll road have decreased in tariffs, "said Danang.

Operations Director of PT. Jasa Marga Tbk. Subakti Syukur said, PT. Jasa Marga Tbk. continue to improve services in terms of transaction services, traffic, and construction services. "For transaction services at the Cengkareng Toll Gate (GT), which previously had only 13 OAB Toll Substations (Oblique Approach Booth), 7 substations have been added to become 20 substations. Then on the side of increasing transaction capacity there has also been the addition of 18 Mobile Reader operations. "The Sedyatmo toll road service is not just about pursuing minimum service standards (SPM)," he said.

In construction services, Subakti added, PT. Jasa Marga has also re-aligned KM 29-30, widening KM 28, widening GT Cengkareng, and adding transaction lanes at the Penjaringan Interchange. Drainage repair is also carried out as an effort to deal with floods, preparation of more than 50 pumps to anticipate inundation due to rain or sea tides. There are 66 CCTVs that are also used to monitor inundation locations and 3 Variable Message Signs.

While the Urban Observer, Yayat Supriyatna added that the change in the function of the Sedyatmo Toll gave rise to new economic activities that made Soetta airport as Aerocity. With the existence of spatial and economic plans, this toll road serves productive areas such as warehousing and increasing logistics business every day.

"The incentive to reduce tariffs on logistics and uniform tariffs on the Sedyatmo toll road provides more benefits for the community. This is seen from the way the Government supports the performance of industrial warehousing and logistics services. The function of the road has changed to become a regional service function, "Yayat said.

The following is the determination of the tariff rate for the Sedyatmo Toll Road as of May 12, 2019, at 00.00 WIB:

Gol I: Rp. 7,500, - from Rp. 7,000 previously (up Rp. 500)

Gol II: Rp 10,000, - from the previous Rp. 8,500 (up Rp. 1,500)

Gol III: IDR 10,000, - from the previous IDR 10,000 (Fixed)

Goal IV: Rp. 11,000, - from Rp. 12,500, - (down Rp. 1,500)

Goal V: IDR 11,000, from the previous IDR 15,000 (down IDR 4,000)

Prof. tariff adjustments Dr. Ir. Soedijatmo was carried out after the Toll Road Business Entity (BUJT) was declared to have passed the SPM test by the BPJT Ministry of PUPR in an effort to improve services to road users. Toll tariff adjustments were also made on the establishment of Law No.38 of 2004 concerning Roads which explained that adjustments to toll rates could be carried out every two years following the development of the inflation rate.
