Ministry of PUPR Targets 427 Km of New Toll Roads to Be Completed Throughout 2021

Jakarta - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) together with partners and the Toll Road Business Entity (BUJT) continue to build a number of toll road projects which are part of the National Strategic Project (PSN) in accordance with Presidential Regulation (Perpres) No. 56/2018 concerning the Second Amendment to Presidential Regulation 3/2016 concerning the Acceleration of PSN Implementation. Overall, 64 toll roads are included in the PSN category and other sections that are important in the context of increasing connectivity.

PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said the presence of toll roads connected to productive areas such as Industrial Estates, Tourism, Airports and Ports would be able to reduce logistics costs and increase the competitiveness of domestic products.

Expert Staff of the Minister of PUPR for Technology, Industry, and Environment Endra S. Atmawidjaja as well as Spokesperson for the Ministry of PUPR said that until April 2021 it was recorded that the length of toll roads that had been operating reached 2,391 km divided into 62 sections managed by the Toll Road Business Entity. (BUJT). The total is the accumulation of toll roads that were completed and operated in the 1978-2014 period of 795 km, followed by the 2015-2019 period (1,298 km), then added 246 km in 2020, and 54.69 km from January to April 2021.

"The number of toll roads that will operate will continue to grow, it is targeted that in 2021 as many as 19 sections of 427 km have been and will be completed so that a total of 2,764 km of toll roads will be completed and operating throughout Indonesia by the end of 2021," said Endra .

In 2021, Endra said, from January to April 2021, there have been 7 (seven) new toll roads that have been completed along 54.69 km, namely Banda Aceh-Sigli section 3 (16 km), Medan-Binjai section 1A (4, 22 km), Bekasi-Cawang-Kampung Melayu section 1A (2.69 km), Serpong-Cinere section 1 (6.5 km), Cengkareng-Batu Ceper-Kunciran (14.2 km), Kayu Agung-Palembang-Betung section 1 Phase 1B (8.23 km) and Bogor Ring Road section 3A (2.85 km). The Serpong – Cinere and Cengkareng – Batu Ceper – Kunciran sections were recently inaugurated by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo.

The remaining 14 toll roads spanning 373 km which are targeted to be completed by the end of 2021 consist of the Trans Sumatra segment (172.9 km) namely the Kuala Tanjung-Tebing Tinggi-Parapat Toll Road section, Kuala Tanjung-Pematang Siantar (96.5 km), Sigli. -Banda Aceh sections 2,5, and 6 (18.8 km), Padang-Pekanbaru section Pekanbaru-Bangkinang (40 km), and Lubuk Linggau-Curup-Bengkulu section Bengkulu-Taba Penanjung (17.6 km).

The next toll roads that will be completed by the end of 2021 are toll roads in the Jabodetabek area (77.47 km) consisting of the Cibitung-Cilincing Toll Road sections 1-4 (34.77 km), Cimanggis-Cibitung section 2 Jatikarya-Cibitung. (23 km), Bekasi-Cawang-Kampung Melayu section 2A (4.9 km), 6 sections of DKI Toll Road Section A Kelapa Gading-Pulo Gebang (9.3 km), and Serpong-Balaraja Section 1 A (5.5 km). ).

"Furthermore, there are five non-trans toll roads with a total length of 122.7 km, consisting of the Cileunyi-Sumedang-Dawuan toll road sections 1,2,3, and 6 (38.5 km), Ciawi-Sukabumi section 2 (11.9 km) , Serang-Panimbang section 1 (26.5 km), Balikpapan-Samarinda sections 1 and 5 (33.1 km) and Manado-Bitung section 2B Danowudu-Bitung (12.7 km) ," concluded Endra.
